In Semporna, there’s a seafood wholesale center where the seafood is aquafarm and mainly packaged for sale abroad. I find the prices a bit high, like 350 Malaysian Ringgit per kilogram for lobsters. My suggestion is, if you want to buy seafood, you can check out the local seafood market or buy from roadside vendors because you can negotiate the prices.
Here’s a tip for everyone: due to the high number of tourists here, seafood prices on the roadside are initially quite expensive. Sellers usually start with a high price, and you can negotiate by halving it, and then halving it again. I once bought crabs, and the seller started at 150 Ringgit, but I managed to settle the deal at 30 Ringgit.
